There are various reasons that lead to abandonment within this culture. A few of the most common are neglect due to extreme poverty, drug addiction, prostitution, physical and sexual abuse, and a mother’s inability to care for her child. In many cases, due to these reasons, the oldest boy in their family is forced to live and/or work on the streets to provide for his family. In other cases, such as domestic and sexual abuse, the government intervenes and removes the child from their home.
At Go Love, our response to this devastating reality is to intervene and advocate for these children in the following ways…
First, we rescue the child from these unimaginable situations and our organization collaborates closely with child welfare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the children we serve.
The ultimate goal is to restore relationships with their biological families through intense intervention, training, support and assistance.
When reunification with their biological families is not healthy, we welcome the child into our care with open, loving arms and they become a part of our family.
We promise to always operate in a way that creates openness and communication with our donors. We prioritize transparency through providing annual impact reports to all sponsors to show the direct impact of our support. Additionally we strive to maintain open communication through regular updates and emails. We highly value building trust with our donors.
